Description

A geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 3.5 hectares was carried on the north-western edge of Elvington, in advance of the determination of a planning application for the proposed development of the site. Anomalies caused by a sub-surface pipe, modern activity and geological variation have been identified. No anomalies of archaeological potential have been identified. On the basis of the survey the archaeological potential of the site is considered to be very low.
