NMR Information

The record for this find was derived from a single NMR entry (UID 58231)for:

Miscellaneous prehistoric finds from York, including Neolithic stone and flint implements, Early Bronze Age beakers, a range of Bronze Age bronze implements including a hoard of socketed axes, Iron Age material including coins, as well as some Iron Age situlae and fibulae said to come from in or near York. Some of these items are in York Museum.

A hoard of socketed axes; flint and stone implements including a greenstone adze with curved blade, and arrowhead and axe of long barrow type.

The provenance of the B.A. hoard is unknown, but the hoard of flint and stone implements is assumed to have come from an area centred at SE 584 521.
