Description

In late 2001 and early 2002, York Archaeological Trust maintained a periodic watching brief at 105-127 Micklegate, York. The works consisted of the monitoring of two bore-holes later succeeded by observations of two engineering test pits and recording during the stripping of parts of the site for a raft type foundation. The first two components highlighted the presence of a considerable depth of recent material, the third confirmed that the principal component, at least, of the development was taking place at a level within these later materials.
