Description

Evaluation in the car park opposite City Arms. Two trenches were excavated 2m x 2m to a depth of 1.8m. Natural was encountered at 1.53m bgl. Roman tile and pottery was found along with medieval deposits. Later work by On Site Archaeology located a small group of Roman inhumation burials. RCHME Microfilm Index Number 9392
