Description
"Coffin and grave goods, found in 1901 at the N. end of Sycamore Terrace, about 2 ft. from the S.boundry wall of Love Lane (N.G. 59685236). The stone coffin, with a ridged lid, already broken into three pieces when found, contained the skeleton of a woman 5ft 4 ins.tall lying on her back. The grave goods, H. 5-12 (Plate 67. Fig 58), consisted of a adark blue glass flagon with applied threads on the neck, an openwork inscription in bone, SOROR AVE VIVAS IN DEO 'Hail sister, may you live in God!', two jet bangles, a bracelet of blue glass beads, and a small round glas ear-drops, two marbled glass beads, and a small round glass mirro.
