Description

Two trenches were opened by machine and thereafter excavated by hand. Trench 1 measured 5mx5m; trench 2 was 6mx3m NMR: Museum accession codes: 1990.17,1992.14. Phase 1 - borehole survey of the site. Phase 2 - rexamination of borehole survey + two trenches excavated revealed multi phase Medieval structures & foundations of a workhouse. Phase 3 - trench excavated revealed S.W. exterior wall of St George's Chapel.
