Description

YORK SE6051NW SHAMBLES 1112-1/28/1110 (North East side) 14/06/54 No.14 GV II* House, now part of restaurant. Early C19, incorporating elements of earlier structure; C20 alteration and extension. Timber-framed, fronted in orange-brown brick in Flemish bond with timber shop window; brick stack to tiled roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 1-window front. Shopfront has glazed and panelled door and 3-light transomed window. First floor window is 16-pane sash with painted sill and painted channelled wedge lintel. Attic window is flat-topped dormer with 2-light casement. INTERIOR: ground floor rooms fitted with C20 incised panelling. Timber-frame much altered with exposed joists and a stud partition wall.
