The watching brief was commissioned to satisfy a condition attached to the planning permission for the development (Planning Reference No. 17/01659/FUL). The investigation comprised the hand excavation, under archaeological supervision, of the foundation trenches for a small extension and associated drainage works to the rear of the existing property. No archaeological features or finds were revealed during the investigation.
