Title Mount Pleasant Farm, Wheldrake - Historic Building Record
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2019

Abstract/Summary

A historic building record was required to identify and document any items of archaeological and architectural interest prior to the development of the existing farm site and conversion of agricultural buildings to 2no. dwellings and associated works and infrastructure. This report has been prepared by Humble Heritage Ltd during March 2019 on behalf of York Property Solutions. It provides a photographic, descriptive and drawn record of the historical farmstead at Mount Pleasant Farm with analytical text. The site under consideration was built as a farmstead with a courtyard plan, possibly in the early nineteenth century. It was comprehensively rebuilt in the second half of the nineteenth century, retaining a large threshing barn and two further buildings from the earlier phase. The farm evolved during the 20th century and this report documents evidence pertaining to the origins and development of the historic buildings to be converted as part of the development.
