An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the extension and conversion of 18 Bootham terrace, York. Trenching within the interior of the property did not disturb any archaeological material. Alterations within the terraced rear garden however, revealed two Romano-British inhumations which required lifting prior to re-profiling of the terrace and the extension of the rear aspect of the property. Both skeletons were of adults and no associated grave goods were present. Quantities of Romano-British pottery were recovered from the grave fills.
