Full Description
Terrace of 3 houses. Mid C19. Brick with painted stone  dressings. Slate roof.  EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics and cellars. Each house 2  bays. Sashes throughout, those to Nos 15 and 17, 4-pane with  glazing bars, those to No.16, 2-pane. Each house has a canted  bay window on the ground floor, with a modillion cornice and  with a brick base which has a casement cellar window. The 1st  floor windows have a sill band. No.17 has an attic dormer. Nos  16 and 17 have doorways in their right-hand bays, with  pilaster doorcases which have modillioned cornices, 4-panel  doors, and overlights. The overlight to No.17 has margin  panes. The gutter is carried on rectangular timber brackets.  Chimneys at left, and between houses in front of ridge. The  right-hand return wall of No.15 has 4 bays and is treated  similarly. In its 3rd bay it has a single-storey canted bay  window with modillioned cornice, and in its 2nd bay a doorcase  and 4-panel door similar to those to Nos 16 and 17. The attic  is lit by a shallow flat-roofed C20 dormer. Chimney to right.  INTERIORS: not inspected.  SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the garden front wall is of brick with  stone and artificial stone copings. The wall to No.15 carries  iron railings with cast finials and terminates at the east end  against an iron gate with cast-iron gateposts. No.16 has a  similar gate, and restored railings. No.17 has a low iron gate  and gateposts, and a wall and coping without railings which  returns at the north-west end to form the division between the  gardens of Nos 17 and 18.
