Full Description
House, now shop and offices. C15, with later alteration and extension; C20 renovation and shopfront. Timber-framed, with stucco front incised to resemble panelling and rendered rear; pantile roof with brick stack. EXTERIOR: 3-storey 2-window gabled front, with jettied upper floors. 4-panel door to right of small-pane 4-light window over external counter. First floor windows are 2-light large-pane horizontal sliding sashes; second floor window is 3x2-pane horizontal sliding sash. INTERIOR: chamfered beams exposed on ground and first floors. C16 but of different builds. Much restored. Timber frame stuccoed (No 9 cement rendered); 3 storeys with oversailing upper storeys, No 7 with moulded bressummers; 4 gables; 4 later windows. No 7has a modern shop window and Nos 8 and 9 have C19 shop windows (with glazing bars) with part of the original stall at sill level. The interior has exposed timber-framing, particularly in No 7 which also has an original fireplace on the 1st storey.
