Full Description

Four shops, now museum and shop. Mid C19, restored 1991. Pink and grey mottled brick in Flemish bond, with shopfronts and bracketed eaves cornice of timber; slate roof with 4 brick ridge stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 8-window front. Towards right end, square carriage arch closed by renewed iron gate. Shopfronts to Nos 8, 9 and 10 are renewed, but incorporate re-used upstairs access door to No.9: shopfront to No.10A has plain pilasters with elongated console capitals and moulded dentilled cornice, over panelled riser, with 4-panel upstairs access door at left. All first floor windows are 16-pane sashes over painted stone sill band, except for one 12-pane sash over door to No.9: all have cambered arches. Attic windows are dormers with segmental gables and 4-pane sashes. INTERIORS: not inspected.
