Full Description

Pair of houses with shops. c1850. Mottled red brick in Flemish bond with boxed guttering, returned at each end, and shopfronts of timber; slate roof with brick stacks.

EXTERIOR: 3-storey 4-window front. Carriage arch flanked by shopfronts framed in plain pilasters with moulded imposts beneath dentilled cornice on bulbous carved brackets. Each has glazed door recessed to right of 8-pane shop window over panelled risers. First and second floor windows are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills and flat arches.

(515) House, Nos. 64, 66, now two shops separated by a carriageway with flats above, was built as one three-storey dwelling shortly before 1850. The first floor indicates a plan of three front and three back rooms with principal and secondary staircases, one at each end of a central passage.
