Full Description

NMR Information:

[SE 604516] A Roman extramural settlement was
situated outside the N.W. and S.E. sides of the Fortress and
included the quays. Several buildings have been found.(1)

Excavations at Parliament Street (SE 60335186), 8 High Ousegate
(SE 60355173) and Coppergate (SE 60445168) have revealed
further buildings of the Roman extramural settlement.(2)
