Summary

Land purchased by George Middlewood 13 Feb 1855. Built by 1860. This large imposing house was a family home until 1919 then sold to Captain Dorrien Smith. Home to a series of senior military officers to 1976 now in private hands. From the 1970s to the 1990s it was the General Accident Sports 7 Social Club. Nominated for inclusion on the Local List of Heritage Assets.
