Building record MYO4061 - Carlisle St and Carleton St

Two terraces of houses dating from 1873, providing housing for the workers of the Albion and Phoenix Iron Foundries located at the southern end of the streets. As an integral part of the adjacent foundry complex, they are a rare and unexpected survival of part of York’s nineteenth century industrial history. Nominated for inclusion on the Local List of Heritage Assets.
