Full Description

No. 54: Three storeys plus basement. Extended and altered with numerous internal alterations and S/S extension to rear. Side Yard and small hidden garden to rear. End Bay Fronted Forecourt Terrace. Brick Elevations. Slate Roof. Timber windows.

No.56: Formerly one of service building to nearby larger property (The Garth, 60 Marygate). Brick with painted render to front elevation. Blue slate roof. Timber windows. Semi detached phased building comprising mid/rear 18th century (1750) original section with Victorian front elevation to street and 21st century conservatory extension at rear (Paired with 58). Original brick gutter support sections to front elevation.

No 58: Semi detached building comprising mid/rear 18th century (Georgian) 2 storey original mid section evident at rear with Victorian front elevation and later single storey lean to timber clad extension at rear (Paired with no 56). Service building to nearby larger property (The Garth). Brick with painted render to front elevation. Blue slate roof. Timber windows. Original brick gutter support sections to front elevation.

All surveyed January 2015: No .54: Deferred maintenance and poor adaptations. Poorly maintained plastic rainwater goods. Vegetation to gutters. Discharges to concrete made up apron in front of bay wall damaging garden wall. Upper floors: residential use

No.56: Fair condition. Upper floors: residential use

No.58: Fair condition. Roof described as being in poor condition. Upper floors: residential use

NMR: 56-58 Marygate: two houses, probably originally one, U-shaped plan, two storeys, built in c.1700. The main range was to the street with two gabled wings.
