Monument record MYO3572 - WW2 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Batter

Summary

Site of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery at Knapton. It was armed with two 3.7-inch mobile guns with GL Mark IA radar in 1942. In 1944 it was manned by 377 Battery of the 119th Royal Artillery Regiment. The battery is recorded as earthworks on air photographs taken in 1945 of the area immediately to the east of Knapton village.
