Summary

Vertical photographs in the early post-War period record an extensive field system of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation in Heworth Without parish. The area between the Malton road and the Tang Hall Beck is now occupied by housing, but later photography shows elements surviving to the south and east of the parish around Appletree Farm and Beckfield House.
