Full Description
House. c1840. Brick with slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. South wall 3 bays, with painted pointed brick arches to all openings. The left-hand bay has window openings which are blocked with brickwork. The windows are glazing bar sashes with arched heads which have intersecting Gothick glazing. The fanlight to the door, in the right-hand bay, is similar. The door surround is painted and the door has 6 raised and fielded panels. To the left of this right-hand bay there is a shallow brick pier. To the right is a wider pier which terminates the right-hand return wall which is of concave plan. The verges of the house roof partly project above its coping. The left-hand return gable wall, facing New Walk and the River Ouse, also has projecting verges. The central part of the wall is bowed and has painted flat brick arches above glazing bar sashes with gothick glazing.

No 32 is a cottage with Gothic detailing built c.1840 on part of the The Grange estate. The door and window openings have a two centered arched heads and the glazing bars are in the form of tracery
