Full Description

House. Early C18 with C19 and later alterations, and C20 shopfront. Rendered front with timber boxed guttering over moulded cornice; slate roof with right end brick stack. EXTERIOR: 3-storey, 2-window front. Shopfront continued from No.20 (qv). 1-pane sashes on first floor, 12-pane sashes on second floor, with rendered sills. Raised second floor band. INTERIOR: first floor: two doorcases in pilastered surrounds at stair head; front room has fluted cornice and late C19 fireplace between alcove cupboards; back room has fireplace with hob grate in fluted surround. Close string staircase rises to attic, with turned balusters, square newels with attached half-balusters, and flat moulded handrail. Balusters on attic flight are earlier in date and re-used. Second floor: front room has fireplace with angle roundels; inner front room has fireplace with dentilled cornice shelf; back room has fireplace with moulded surround.
