Full Description

House, now shop. Early C19 with late C19 shopfront and alterations; further alteration and extension of C20. Painted brick in Flemish bond; slate roof with 2-light window in flat-topped dormer.

EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 1-bay front. Shop window framed in plain pilasters with moulded imposts and flat cornice: glazed and sunk-panel door and overlight recessed at left of 2-light plate glass window over sunk-panel riser. Windows on first and second floors are 12-pane sashes, shorter on second floor, with painted stone sills and flat arches.

INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value as an integral part of this important historic street.

House, No. 13, is of three storeys and cellar, was builty in the early 19th century with one room on each floor and the staircase behind. Additions were made ith the late 19th and 20th centuries. The front elevation, of one bay, is of brick in Flemish bond and has a later shop window. Inside, some original fittings remain including the staircase with square balusters, but all the fireplaces have been replaced. The kitchen is in the cellar.
