Full Description

Public house now building society premises. Mid C19, altered 1992. Grey brown mottled brick in Flemish bond, with ground floor faced in glazed tile; timber modillion eaves cornice; slate roof with brick stack at right end. EXTERIOR: 3-storey 3-window front. Former inn front framed in Roman Doric pilasters carrying full entablature with draped urn finials at each end of cornice. Central margin-glazed door is recessed in architrave stepped up over margin-glazed overlight. Flanking windows are similarly glazed, the left one a single plate glass light, the right one of 2 lights; both have moulded sills. At left end is C20 door with bordered panel recessed in centre and with margin-glazed overlight. Windows on upper floors are 8-pane sashes with cambered brick arches, those on first floor with painted sill band, on second floor with painted stone sills. INTERIOR: not inspected.
