Full Description

Parish boundary stone. Possibly early C19. Roughly dressed stone. Monolith approximately 1.75 metres high with round head. Monk Stray was enclosed 1817-1822. Heworth comprising parts of three City parishes was taken within the City boundaries in 1884. (An Inventory of the Historical Monuments of the City of York: RCHME: Outside the City Walls East of the Ouse: HMSO: 1975-: XXXVIII).
