Full Description
House, now offices. Built 1828 for George Hudson; altered late  C20. Brick in Flemish bond. Slate roof.  EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and 2 bays. The windows to the upper  storeys are glazing bar sashes with brick flat arches. The  ground floor is a C20 rebuilding, replacing the shopfront and  Doric doorcase illustrated by RCHM. A brick-faced lintel spans  between brick side piers and is supported by a central brick  pier. To the right of this pier there is a vehicle entrance.  To its left there is a recessed brick wall with a glazing bar  sash window. The timber cornice gutter is supported by paired  rectangular brackets. At the left there is a shared lead  rainwater hopper and downpipe. Shared chimney at left.  INTERIOR: not inspected.  Included for group value as an integral part of the  streetscape on Monkgate.
