Description

Recommended to install a French Drain along the north western side of Tower 2 in order to halt the ingress of rainwater into the rampart. Chevron Drains cut to depths or around 2.00m proposed to assist the egress of groundwater along the south eastern side of the rampart. The addition of vegetation along the embankment should be considered as their root systems draw water out of the ground. Recommend ongoing monitoring Tower 2 and if the cracks appear to still be worsening after the above recommendations are in place, more drastic engineered solutions such as gabions or injection grouting should be considered.
