Description

Natural sand and clay was uncovered just 0.21m below the present ground level, which was formed from a layer of modern made ground containing brick and concrete rubble. The only notable features recorded during the watching brief were a late post-medieval to modern brick lined well, recorded 2.20m from the southwest end of the foundation trench, and a modern brick lined structure recorded adjacent to the existing building to the east. Both the features were located beneath the modern made ground deposits and are likely associated with the 19th century farm.
