Description

Within the side extension a single archaeological feature was observed. This contained a sherd of mid-12th - mid-13th century medieval pottery and is likely to be a boundary ditch, apparently parallel with the existing street frontage. It may have separated a street frontage property from yards or open fields to the rear. As the foundation trenches were relatively shallow the majority of this feature was preserved in-situ.
