Description

NMR info: Trench 1, within a coffer dam in the River Foss, revealed an AngloScandinavian waterfront and Roman ford. Trench 2, partially within thecarriageway outside the MAFF building on Peaseholme Green, located aseries of Roman dumps containing large amounts of kiln furniture, tile and pottery. Excavation and watching brief to continue into 1998.
