Description

WB on 19th Feb 2004 during hand excavation of four trenches to inform foundation type for extension. Between the 1st and 9th of April 2014 York Archaeological Trust undertook an archaeological Watching Brief at St. Peter's School, York. Sited in a small court yard on the southeast side of Manor Boarding House, Area 1 was the site of foundation excavation for an extension. Second phase of work between the 1st and 9th of April 2014. Area 2 was the site of excavations for a new main entrance. Both phases of work identified deposits associated with plough soils and earlier 19th and 20th century buildings.
