Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by On-Site Archaeology Ltd during the groundwork construction of a single storey extension to the rear 30 Marygate, off Bootham in the City of York. The groundwork involved the excavation of a single foundation trench. The only archaeological deposit of note revealed during the investigation was a probable post-medieval to early modern soil horizon partly exposed within the base of the trench. The remainder of the deposits recorded during the investigation were of a 20th century date.
