MAP Archaeological Practice carried out an Archaeological Strip, Map and Record between 21st January 2019 and 14th February 2019 at 26-28 Tadcaster Road, York, prior to the erection of eleven dwellings and associated gardens. Within the stripped area, Roman features, including pits and a ditch enclosure, were recorded with associated finds consisting of pottery sherds, including large amounts of Samian ware, six partial animal skeletons and a minimum of four human burials. Medieval ditches and pits were also present, dated by associated pottery and a Post- Medieval deposit and pit.
