Description
The Level 3 photographic survey at Cocoa Works, Haxby Road, York prior to redevelopment of the former chocolate works.
The buildings covered by the survey included the Joseph Rowntree Memorial Library, a
Grade II listed building (NHLE; 1392224) and two undesignated heritage assets the Almond Block Extension, built 1911 and the Cream Block built 1936.
The survey highlighted the historic development of the site and revealed earlier elements of pre-1911 structures that were integrated into later development of the complex.
