The natural clay was overlain by a sandy deposit cut by a grave in which a skull survived along with several bones and sherd of 3rd-4th century pottery. Probably part of the cemetery zone recorded adjacent to the Bar Convent. A second trench was dug c.2m to the north-east of the first - no Roman feaures found.
