Description

Between 2nd and 5th April 2013, York Archaeological Trust carried out an archaeological evaluation in the yard of 7 Minster Yard, York NGR: SE 6033 5229. The work was undertaken in advance of the proposed addition of a single-storey sunroom extension to the north-east face of the building and involved the excavation of a 2m by 1m trench to a depth of 1m. The aim of the project was to establish the extent, character and significance of archaeological remains within the area of the proposed development and to inform future mitigation against unnecessary disturbance of significant deposits should they be present.
