Description

EXCAVATION South View Sidings, Railway Station 1972.16 Mixed material containing a large quantity of Roman finds was found and interpreted as redeposited Roman material which had been used as levelling during railway construction. No evidence of the position of the Roman cemetery known from excavations during construction of York Station in the 1870s was found.
