Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by York Archaeological Trust on land north of the Mille Crux Sports Ground. The groundworks were undertaken by Spadeoak for York St. John University. The site lies close to the edge of the River Foss flood plain where there is the potential for Mesolithic activity, and within an area which has produced Roman settlement activity. However no archaeological remains were encountered during the course of the groundworks.
