Description

A watching brief was carried out on the excavation of trial pits near the south transept approach to York Minster. Modern featues were noted above a layer containing disarticulated human bone. Also observed was a layer of limestone mortar with evidence of stake holes, presumably derived from a setting out line for the cinstruction of steps.
