Description

scheme of preliminary evaluation A desk top survey undertaken on behalf of Melhome Developments Ltd found that the site forms part of the former grounds of Fishergate House. As it lies within the area subject to the Archaeological Areas Act (1979) and lies within an area of known archaeological interest, it has been recommended that two evaluation trenches be opened up on this site. It has been recommended that these two trenches have been limited to an area which is 2m squared and to be dug to the depth, either to the top of the natural subsurface, or the top of any archaeological deposits or to a depth of 1.5m, whichever is the highest.
