Description

excavation of a small trench The excavation of small trench to facilitate the construction of a cold store for the college kitchens revealed a previously unknown extension to the north-east side of the college. It was fould to be well constructed of brick with a well built brick floor. A Tentative date of the 16th century for its construction have been put forward and was believed to have remained in use into the eitheenth century. Outside the perimetre of the extension a series of pits, postholes and dumps were observed and all lay within an enclosed space which was thought to have been a garden area.
