Description
Level ground near the River Ouse had probably been "ings" or water meadows from the Roman to medieval periods, without intensive occupation; on a terrace above were traces of Roman activity, including one intact and several disturbed inhumations.

The observation has limited potential for further research. The pottery, finds and environmental evidence are to be assessed for their potential research value.
