Description

YORK SE5952SE MARYGATE 1112-1/12/623 (North West side) 14/06/54 No.30 GV II House. Early C19 with mid C19 alterations. Brick with slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys plus attic. 2 bays. The left-hand window on the ground floor is sashed. The other windows are sashed without glazing bars. At the left on the 1st floor there is a mid C19 canted oriel with segmental heads to the upper sashes, engaged shafts at the angles, and a cornice. A flat-roofed attic dormer has a horizontally-sliding sash with glazing bars. At the right there is a door of 4 panels with moulded borders, with a fanlight. The timber pilaster doorcase had its cornice hood missing at time of survey. Chimney to left. INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records original fireplaces with cast-iron grates.
