House, now part of hotel. C18, partly rebuilt following war           damage in 1942. Red brick in Flemish bond, upper storey           rendered, with hipped, tiled roof.           EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 5-window front. To left,           panelled double doors beneath radial-glazed overlight. Windows           throughout are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills, those           on ground floor with keyed wedge lintels. 3-course raised           first floor band. Parapet with flat coping masks inserted flat           dormers in attic.           INTERIOR: closed-string staircase, with column-on-vase           balusters, moulded ramped-up handrail and turned newels.           (RCHME: City of York: London: 1972-: 103).
