Description

YORK SE5951SW THE MOUNT 1112-1/19/1089 (North West side) 10/09/70 No.122 (Formerly Listed as: THE MOUNT Nos.116-134 (Even)) GV II House. 1848-9. Ashlar with brick chimneys and gable wall. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and 2 bays. The 2 ground-floor windows are glazing bar sashes with moulded semicircular heads and a moulded impost band. The 1st floor windows are casements with cornices and lugged architraves. They open onto a stone balcony with cast-iron railings with anthemion decoration. The 2nd floor windows are glazing bar sashes with architraves and a moulded sill band. The doorway, at the left, has a moulded semicircular head with moulded imposts which continue the window impost band, a fanlight, and a door with 4 raised and fielded panels. It is flanked by pilasters with sunken panels and console brackets which support a cornice hood immediately below the balcony. Stone modillion gutter cornice.
