Description

YORK SE6051NE WALMGATE 1112-1/17/1155 (South West side) No.17 GV II House and shop. Early C19 front to mid C18 rear block with altered late C19 shopfront. Buff-brown brick in Flemish bond with timber shopfront; timber eaves frieze and guttering on paired modillions to pantile roof. EXTERIOR: 3-storey 1-window front. Shopfront framed in part-grooved pilasters with moulded imposts beneath fascia and moulded cornice between grooved and dentilled brackets with triangular gablets. Plate glazed door and window over glazed brick riser. Tripartite window with 4:12:4-pane sashes on first floor: on second floor, two squat 12-pane sashes; all windows have painted sills and channelled lintels. INTERIOR: not inspected.
