Description

ACASTER MALBIS MILL LANE SE 54 NE (east side) 1/3A Hall Garth and attached outbuildings GV II Farmhouse, now house. Late C17 with early C19 and early C20 alterations. Red brick with plain tile roofs, 2 gable and a single lateral stack. 2 storey, 3 bay. South front has central doorway, with C20 part glazed door, and a small side light to the right, eitheride are canted bay windows with glazing bar casements with a link- ing wooden porch supported on 2 wooden posts. Above a central 2 light glazing bar casement, flanked by single 3-light similar casements. Dentilated brick eaves. The east and west gables have the remains of tumbling. To the rear a gabled early C20 addition with to the east a central doorway with a part glazed porch and a small side light. To the right on a projecting wing has 7-light bay window with glazing bar casements, above a central glazing bar fixed light, to the right a 4-light glazing bar casement under a segmental arch. To the west outbuildings around a small court, including a double earth closet. Interior: south-west room contains a chamfered spine beam and a large inglenook with a curved and chamfered bressomer. South-east room contains a re-used C18 fireplace. Early C19 single flight staircase with 2 turned balusters per tread, and scrolled newel. Upper rooms have chamfered spine beams. Late C17 single coller roof with staggered purlins and original rafters. Listing NGR: SE5891645344
