Description

YORK SE6051NW COPPERGATE 1112-1/28/274 (South East side) 14/06/54 No.12 The Three Tuns II Public house. Probably C16 with C19 and later alterations and extension. Timber-framed, rendered and white-washed, with tile roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic with 1-storey extension to left; 1-window front. First floor jettied. Replacement 6-panel door between bracketed bow windows. Window to left is of 4 lights over panelled risers, with moulded mullions and cornice. Window to right is of 3 lights with moulded sill and cornice. 6-light window on first floor, with moulded mullions, bracketed sill and cornice lintel. Attic window is gabled dormer with 2x2-light sliding sash in moulded surround. To left of door, boot scraper niche with ogee-arched head. INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records refitted C20.
