Description

YORK SE6052SE GOODRAMGATE 1112-1/14/394 (South East side) 19/08/71 No.23 GV II House, now shop. c1800 incorporating remains of late medieval timber-framed building and later wing; C20 shopfront and further extension. Front of painted brick in Flemish bond; rear of orange brick in stretcher bond; timber frieze and guttering on shaped brackets; pantile roof with brick stacks. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 2-window front. Shopfront has glazed and panelled double doors between plate glass windows. First floor windows are 4-pane sashes. Rear: 2-storey gabled wing. Ground floor obscured by C20 extension. Small sash window to left of first floor. INTERIOR: one post visible at rear of first floor. Ground floor retains ceramic tile frieze of fruit swags and beribboned shells.
