No evidence for the Roman cemetery, or indeed other archaeological remains of pre 18th-19th century date were observed in any of the trench sections. Deposits within the area of the trench were not available for inspection, having already been removed, though workers at the site stated that no finds were noticed. Deposits above those of natural, or seemingly of natural, origin, appear to have been removed from this part of the site at the time of construction of 1 Driffield Terrace in the 19th century. It is possible that during such works any archaeological deposits were effectively removed. With the possible exception of a large gentle sided cut, all cuts and deposits observed at the site related to the construction of the present building and to subsequent works.
